Fell at age 19

Shir was born and raised in Ashdod and was a smart, sensitive, determined young woman, and a caring, good friend. She studied in an honors class and graduated with high honors, with an exceptionally high grade point average. Her dream was to become a doctor.

For four years, she volunteered at Magen David Adom Ashdod, which was a second home to her. She completed a medic course, and when she enlisted in the IDF, she requested to serve as a combat medic. Her friends at Magen David Adom remembered her as smart, professional, and a friend to everyone. Once, when the station manager saw her smiling and asked why, she simply replied: “I’m just good, happy.”

During her military service, she was a medic in the Northern Brigade. On the morning of October 7th, she fell in battle at the Nahal Oz base, fighting bravely against terrorists alongside her friend, the late Yarin Mari Peled.

Shir is survived by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

A memorial and a training room were inaugurated in her memory at the Magen David Adom Ashdod station. An intensive care unit and four ambulances were dedicated in her name, and a medic course held in the training room was named the “Shir Course.” Her parents participated in the course, were certified as Magen David Adom medics, and began volunteering for the organization.

May her memory be a blessing.
