The Story of the Kochav Michael Treatment Site

As teams saved lives, Magen David Adom armored ambulance teams
from across the country arrived to assist the MDA Sderot station teams, and a treatment site was established in the nearby community of Kochav Michael.

There, ambulances gathered in clusters, awaiting the moment they could enter the Gaza Envelope communities.

One cluster, led by MDA Deputy Director General, Prof. Eli Jaffe, attempted to enter the city but was forced to turn back due to gunfire directed at the teams.

Meanwhile, MDA’s armored ambulances went out to treat the injured and evacuated them to the Kochav Michael site, where numerous MDA ambulance and intensive care unit teams awaited them. These teams received the injured and provided the armored crews with verified and organized first aid kits in exchange for their used equipment, ensuring the armored ambulance teams would not waste precious time under fire organizing supplies.

The injured rescued by MDA’s armored ambulances were evacuated by the teams at Kochav Michael, while the armored teams returned to the inferno to operate under fire.
